DAG 79: Adelaide Australie

Although i am in Australia now, i still can call this blog 'lost in translation', because i am going to need a phrasebook. Most of the time i really don't understand what the hell these aussies are saying.
What can I tell you about australia? Well it is big, no it isn't big it is enormous. I started my travels down south in the relaxed city of Adelaide, south australia, the driest state in the driest continent! There closest city, Melbourne, is only 11 hours by train. That is From Dordrecht to Barcelona. That is from the top of Japan to the tip of the southern islands. That is from Busan to Seoul, back again and you still got time enough to travel back to Seoul. And we are talking about the nearest city. So you better plan your trip in Australia the right way, otherwise you will be losing days by traveling, or you take the plane like it is the local bus (200E each flight). Luckily there is a trainconnection bewteen these cities, the other one runs from Adelaide up north to Darwin. So be ready for spending long days in the bus.

Wondering how 24hours in my look like right now? I got no time to be bored.

09:00 AM
In Adelaide i am joined by my friend Emily. Born and raised in Adelaide and Will Oldham fan (who actually played here and told Emily that she was wearing a beautiful green dress) makes her the best guide there is. We start with the best breakfast there is: icecream with dark strong coffee. You can find it at the 'central market' the best place in town. This market is the nicest indoor market in australia. It's always busy with a great atmosphere, and everyone hangs out in it for hours and has coffees and meets friends. You can find here all the food of the world: thai, korean, vietnamese, japanese, chinese, indian, italian, greek, french etc etc. You can even find the famous dutch 'dropjes' and 'bolletje'. All the summer fruit is out so you can eat proper mangos, cherries, plums and peaches. And they got here a fantastic collection of glutenfree products. So i've been eaten pancakes, chocolate cakes and hamburgers. To be short i am on a foodtrip again.

11:30 AM
We start bushwalking. Just outside Adelaide we take the short 'waterfall' trail of 2 hours because it is hot. It is so hot here that even the trees take out there coat. The bark is spread on the ground. It is so dry that there is no drop of water to be found in the waterfalls. But now the top makes a great picknick place. A beautiful lookout over the dry lands. The fruit and spreads we bought on the market taste good. I don't spot koalas this trip.

14:00
To cool of i do 20 laps in the 50m outdoor swimmingpool. After that i return to the travelagent next door to the hostel i am staying. They do a wonderful job helping out with my travels next weeks. I spent a lot of money, but i am going to do some fantastic things (you will see)

19:00PM
I meet Emily at Ying Chows the finest chinese in Adelaide. They serve great and tasty dishes.

22:00PM
Just in time to see The legendary Jungle Brothers kick off, at what becomes the best hiphop party i have been to, at HQ headquarters. The JBs drop their classic old skool tunes. The line up is fantastic with J5, Jungle Brothers, Swollen Members and Masta Ace/ EMC. Prevail of Swollen Members knows how to get the party started. He jumps around, stage dives and dances from left till right. But this is the night of
Masta Ace and his EMC crew. For more then 90minutes they flow and steal the show. So much Energy. I put some footage here so you can get the feeling. I am jumping, hopping and waving my arm in the air (if i don't care). After that the crew does a signing session until the venue closes. Respect!!
03:00 AM
Finally i hit the sack. At nine next day i have a meeting with Kangaroos, Walabies and Koalas. And i start dreaming of them.
